Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Job description

 

Reporting to the Performance and Services Senior Manager, the position holder will be responsible for leading the business planning process, ensuring continuous improvement, optimizing the performance of the supply chain function, and ensuring that business objectives are met across all mining operations.

 

In this role, he/she will be responsible for developing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs), overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, and translating strategic supply chain objectives into measurable business results.

 

His/Her responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

 

1. Performance Management and KPI Development  

  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive suite of supply chain KPIs across all functions (procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, MRO).
  • Establish baseline metrics, set performance targets, and develop dashboards to monitor supply chain health, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive the operationalization of data-driven insights to identify bottlenecks and efficiency opportunities within the supply chain lifecycle.

2. Commercial Planning and Budget Management    

  • Lead the annual supply chain budget cycle, collaborating with functional heads to align spending with operational requirements and financial targets.
  • Manage commercial planning and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership.
  • Ensure all supply chain activities contribute optimally to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model for major mining assets.

 

3. Data Analytics and Business Intelligence 

  • Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends, benchmark performance against industry standards, and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Translate complex supply chain data into clear, actionable commercial information for executive decision-making.
  • Oversee data governance related to performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all reported information.

 

4. Continuous Improvement and Optimization  

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, facilitating workshops and initiatives aimed at optimizing supply chain processes, reducing waste, and improving service levels to internal customers (e.g., Maintenance and Production teams).
  • Work closely with the Governance and Risk team to ensure performance metrics adequately capture compliance and risk resilience.

 

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting 

  • Prepare and deliver executive-level performance reports and presentations for site senior and executive leadership
  • Act as the primary interface between the supply chain function and the finance/commercial departments, ensuring alignment on financial performance and strategic initiatives.

 

6. People Management 

  • Provide effective supervision to the team, setting performance objectives and providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Identifies, builds and develops talent and capability, including a pipeline of talent
  • Ensures the effective delivery of training and coaching support across teams ensuring teams have access to training resources and training targets are being achieved for teams and individuals.
  • Drive and develop team capability, ensure ongoing training and development.

 

7. Team Leadership and Development 

  • Managing, coaching, and developing subordinates, and building strong working relationships with internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Drive and develop team capability.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development, performance management, coaching and feedback to drive high performing teams.

 

 

 

Job requirements

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Have at least 7 years of professional experience in Supply Chain Performance Management leadership roles, preferably in a mining or heavy industry environment.

 

Technical skills

  • Strong background in planning, budgeting, and cost analysis within a complex operational environment.
  • Developing and implementing robust KPI frameworks and driving measurable processes
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Expert proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel).
  • Knowledgeable in end-to-end Supply Chain processes, experience with supply chain best practices, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and cost-to-serve modelling.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Commitment to optimizing processes, potentially through digitalization, and applying best practices in Supply Chain.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with all organizational levels, external contacts, and cross-functional teams. (The ability to influence stakeholders is critical).
  • High degree of initiative, results-orientation, and resilience in a demanding environment.
  • Intimate knowledge of operational changes to assess total costs and benefits for accurate Return on Investment (ROI) analysis.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety policies, practices, and education, ensuring safety is prioritized in design and execution.
