Main objectives of the position
Reporting to the Network Infrastructure Engineer , the Operation Technology (OT ) Administrator is responsible for the management, supervision, and optimization of Operational Technology (OT) systems supporting industrial and mining operations.The role ensures the availability, reliability, security, and performance of operational technology platforms, including monitoring systems, operational control technologies, industrial communication networks, and other site operational systems.
The incumbent also provides technical support to end users, manages technical incidents, participates in the deployment of new technologies, and ensures the proper integration of OT systems with the organization’s IT infrastructure.The overall objective of the position is to enhance operational safety, improve system performance, and support efficient site operations, while ensuring compliance with company security policies, technical standards, and operational procedures.
Minimum qualification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – in:
Computer Science
Information Systems
Industrial Technologies
Or a related field
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA Network+
Cisco CCNA – IP Networks, Routing and Switching
Rajant RCNA – Wireless Mesh Networks for Critical Environments
IEC 62443 training or certification (OT cybersecurity) would be considered an advantage.
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an Operational Technology (OT) supervision or support role.
Experience working in an industrial or mining environment.
Experience in the management, supervision, or support of operational technology systems and industrial infrastructures.
Experience in technical incident management and end-user support.
Experience in the implementation or deployment of technological solutions on site.
Experience with industrial monitoring technologies, industrial networks, or supervisory systems is an asset.
Required skills
Knowledge of industrial networks (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP) and Operational Technology (OT) systems in industrial or mining environments.
Ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring and operational systems.
Understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles and network segmentation.
Ability to analyze technical incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Experience with technical documentation, reporting, and incident/ticketing management systems.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for industrial technologies.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proactive mindset with initiative.
Ability to handle complex technical situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong user service orientation.
Adaptable, flexible, and able to manage priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operational technology systems used on site.
Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of OT systems.
Monitor systems to detect anomalies, incidents, or technical failures.
Analyze and resolve user-reported incidents and track them using incident management tools.
Participate in the deployment of new technologies and operational infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT, security, operations teams, and vendors to ensure the effective integration of technologies.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation on systems and interventions performed.
Contribute to system performance analysis and propose improvements.
Train users on best practices for using technology systems.
Ensure compliance with company security policies, technical standards, and procedures.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of technology systems and operational processes.
