Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the direct supervision of the Senior MRP Planner, the position holder will be responsible for planning, scheduling inventory accuracy, creating and validating purchase requests, reviewing variances, while understanding the impact of decisions on the business. He/She should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-effective, high-quality materials needed for production.
His/Her responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Improvements and processes
- Suggest changes in inventory management to respond to increases or decreases in demand.
- Propose continuous improvements in daily processes and tactical projects, including performing root cause analyses and implementing corrective measures to resolve issues across supply chain processes.
- Develop, optimize, and integrate detailed commercial calendars (supply plans, replenishment models) to achieve commercial objectives.
2. Stock level reviews
- Calculate and suggest MRP planning parameters and re-order point and order up to (Minimum / Maximum) levels based on forecasts, consumption history, demand projections and lead-times.
3. Replenishment
- Determining the required materials based on demands and stock levels, future requirements, forecast, etc. and releasing Purchases Requests efficiently.
4. Compliance
- Tracking inventory across multiple storage locations.
- Review daily MRP operations, including inventory health, projected and current excess and inactive stock.
- Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations accordingly.
5. Supervision
- Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, requirements, etc.
- Ensuring the business has a steady flow of stock without overcapitalizing on materials.
6. Reporting
- Creating inventory reports and presenting suggestions to the Materials & Supply Chain Management.
Job requirements
Qualifications and experience
- Hold a university degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field.
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in materials planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a similar position, preferably in a mining or heavy industry environment.
- Have practical experience in MRP/ERP (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and knowledge of replenishment methods, safety stocks, and lead time analysis.
- Have solid practical knowledge of spare parts, material coding, and bills of materials.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems.
- Proficiency in calculations related to inventory optimization processes.
- Ability to use advanced MS Excel functions (Power Query, pivot tables, complex formulas) and create analytical dashboards.
- Technical knowledge of industry/mining (identification of critical parts, understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance cycles, reading technical parts lists).
- Know how to manage operational and logistical emergencies.
- Good understanding of Incoterms, supply chain risk analysis, and supplier deadline management.
