Position Summary

Location: Santiago, Chile

 

Main Objective of the Job

Develop, maintain, and control detailed project schedules for the El Pachón Project, ensuring accurate progress measurement, reliable forecasting, and effective schedule control and rase of early alert and mitigation actions plans. The role supports all Life Cycle of the project from studies to execution stages by providing high-quality scheduling analysis and inputs that enable informed decision-making and proactive management of schedule risks and opportunities to improve the project completion milestones.

 

Operating Context

The Senior Project Scheduler operates within a large-scale copper development located in a remote, high-altitude Andean environment in San Juan, Argentina. The role supports the El Pachón Project across study and execution phases and works closely with the Lead Planning & Scheduling, Project Managers, Project Controls Manager, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams in a multidiscipline  environment.

The position is embedded within the project controls function and plays a critical and strategic hands-on role in integrating schedule inputs across multiple disciplines and contractors, ensuring schedules reflect the approved scope, execution strategy, site constraints, and logistics realities.

 

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in project scheduling within mining or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Fluent English proficiency (speaking, writing and reading); Spanish desirable.

 

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining detailed, integrated project schedules.
  • Strong understanding of schedule logic, critical path analysis, and progress measurement.
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules, WBS development, and interface management.
  • Ability to analyze schedule performance, identify trends, and support recovery planning.
  • Strong attention to detail and structured approach to work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Executive reporting skills.
  • Stakeholders engagement and management.

 

Key Accountabilities

  1. Develop and maintain integrated project schedules aligned with project scope, execution strategy, and contractual requirements.
  2. Collect, validate, and incorporate schedule inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, and contractors.
  3. Perform schedule logic reviews, critical path analysis, and schedule quality checks.
  4. Measure progress, update schedules, and produce accurate forecasts of key milestones and completion dates.
  5. Identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities, and support development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  6. Support monthly project reporting by providing schedule performance analysis and narrative.
  7. Ensure schedule changes are controlled, documented, and aligned with approved change management processes.
  8. Support schedule risk analysis and scenario modelling as required.
  9. Capture lessons learned and supported continuous improvement in scheduling practices.
  10. Provide hands-on scheduling support to the Lead Planning & Scheduling and project teams.

Travel Requirements

Regular travel to the El Pachón site and other Glencore offices as required by the project.
