Position Summary

Project: Coroccohuayco
Reports to: Construction Manager – Coroccohuayco
Location / Working Arrangement: Lima Office and Coroccohuayco Site (as required by the project)
Main Objective of the Job
Provide senior technical leadership and oversight for all civil construction activities (earthworks and concrete works) of the Coroccohuayco Project. The role is accountable for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution through a strong focus on constructability, technical oversight of contractors, and effective coordination with engineering, project controls, and operations, supporting all project phases from studies through execution.
Operating Context
The Civil Construction Lead operates within a large-scale brownfield mining project, involving multiple technical, operational, and social interfaces. The role directly supports the Construction Manager in implementing best-in-class construction methodologies, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
This is a site-intensive role with a high level of interaction with contractors and direct responsibility for resolving complex construction challenges within a multidisciplinary project environment.
Qualifications
- University degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in earthworks and concrete construction on medium- to large-scale industrial or mining projects.
- Demonstrated experience working on the Owner’s side and/or under EPC / EPCM delivery models.
- Strong Spanish communication skills; advanced English required.
Experience & Skills
- Visible leadership and strong commitment to ES&H.
- Deep technical expertise in civil construction methodologies for greenfield and brownfield projects, including fast-track environments.
- Experience managing interfaces with electromechanical, infrastructure, and operations disciplines.
- Proven ability to identify, quantify, and mitigate construction risks.
- Solid understanding of project delivery models (EPC, EPCM, Owner Integrated).
- Ability to lead, influence, and coordinate multicultural teams and contractors.
- Practical, analytical, and results-driven mindset.
- Strong capability in technical problem-solving and on-site decision-making.
Key Accountabilities
- Civil Construction Technical Leadership
Provide technical oversight and leadership for all earthworks and concrete activities, ensuring compliance with engineering design, technical specifications, and construction best practices. - Constructability and Engineering Interface
Lead and support constructability reviews, ensuring designs are executable and optimised for safety, cost, and schedule across all project phases (Concept, PFS, FS, and Execution). - Contractor Oversight
Ensure effective technical control over EPCM and construction contractors, removing execution constraints and supporting schedule and cost performance. - Safety and Quality Leadership
Lead by example in safety, ensuring the application of a zero-incident mindset, effective housekeeping, quality control, and compliance with ES&H standards. - Execution Strategy and Planning
Develop, implement, and recommend civil execution strategies, field procedures, and construction sequences aligned with project priorities. - Multidisciplinary Coordination
Coordinate closely with Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Operations, and HSE to integrate technical and operational inputs into planning and execution. - Performance and Continuous Improvement
Monitor civil construction performance against milestones and objectives; identify improvement opportunities to enhance capital efficiency and reduce risk. - Coaching and Team Development
Provide technical guidance, training, and coaching to project teams and contractors on construction management and constructability practices. - Knowledge Management
Capture lessons learned, implement best practices, and ensure appropriate document control and technical traceability. - Support to the Construction Manager
Support the Construction Manager in the overall execution of civil works, including coordination of field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule inputs, and operational interfaces.
