Project Control Planner – MARA Project
Department / Division: Project Control
Location: Hybrid mode based in Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Tucumán, or Salta, with FIFO to various project locations as required.
Role Objective
This position is accountable for the project planning function for the MARA Project, providing support to the Planning Lead and operating under the guidelines of the Project Controls Manager.
The role contributes to the preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports that inform the project leadership team on project status, as well as the coordination and preparation of planning presentations for senior management.
It also ensures full compliance with PMO procedures and standards and supports Project Controls in achieving project objectives through the effective implementation of project controls requirements.

Key Accountabilities
Planning & Schedule Management
Develop and maintain the baseline, actual, and forecast schedules for current project stages (Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility, and site works), including engineering, consultant tenders, studies, services, contract execution, EIA submission, and associated permits.
Develop and maintain the Execution Stage schedule as part of the Project Master Schedule (PMS) within the Primavera P6 Cloud environment, ensuring full scope inclusion at all times.
Ensure proper logic integration across all managed schedules.
Develop resource-loaded schedules, including histograms and camp space requirements based on planned hours in P6.
Monitoring, Control & Reporting
Manage and update project milestones with monthly updates and weekly follow-up, including:
Baseline (B)
Monthly Target (T)
Actual (A)
Forecast (F)
Assess deviations and highlight critical variances.
Identify critical actions required to meet project baseline or mitigate delays, including:
3-week look-ahead plans
Identification of roadblocks and risks
Contribution to the Critical Items Action Report (CIAR)
Liaise with the cost control team to define cost flows for project scope.
Provide accurate historical performance data (durations, construction task lengths) to support other projects in the country.
Support the development of additional MARA project schedules as required.
Experience & Capabilities
Proven experience in greenfield projects across the full lifecycle: detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, baseline setup, updates, and forecasting.
Experience establishing progress reporting systems across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera P6.
Feasibility study experience is desirable.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
Ability to:
Analyse and synthesise large volumes of data.
Communicate clear messages to diverse stakeholders.
Integrate third-party consultant and contractor schedules into the project master schedule.
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
Self-driven, proactive, resilient, and semi-autonomous working style.
Sound commercial and financial acumen.
Advanced written and verbal Spanish and intermediate English.
Experience within project delivery organisations in Argentina preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
Education & Certifications
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related disciplines.
Certifications such as AACE, PRINCE II, PMI, or equivalent project management credentials are advantageous.
Minimum 5 years of experience in planning roles within the mining, resources, or petrochemical sector, ideally in large-scale projects or construction companies.
