Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Job description

 

 

As part of its strategy of operational excellence driven by the development of technical competencies, KCC is recruiting a Training Manager (Technical), serving as the Head of the Technical Training Department. 
Reporting to the General Manager – Human Resources, the position holder will have full strategic, operational, and budgetary responsibility for the site’s entire technical training system. The role will cover all critical mining disciplines, including: Open Pit, Underground, Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME), Concentrator, Refinery, HSE, Trades, Asset Protection (Security), as well as Training Design and Implementation. 
This position is intended for a senior-level manager capable of leading a strategic department, making operational decisions, and building a skills development system directly linked to performance, safety, and site productivity.

 


He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

 

•    Define and manage the technical training strategy, in alignment with the HR strategy, operational objectives and production priorities.
•    Structuring and managing the entire technical training system, covering all mining and industrial disciplines (mine, process, maintenance, heavy equipment, safety, etc.).
•    Design a complete skills development architecture, including needs analysis, planning, deployment and evaluation of training.

•    To guarantee the quality, relevance and compliance of programs, ensuring their alignment with HSE, regulatory, performance and safety requirements.
•    upskilling , reskilling and certification programs .
•    Managing the budget, service providers and training partnerships, ensuring a return on investment and a high level of requirements.

•    Measure the real impact of training through KPIs, produce strategic reports, anticipate technological developments and contribute to company transformation projects.

 


Job requirements 

 

Qualifications and experience

 

•    Hold a university degree in engineering: Mining, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent.
•    Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining industry or in a comparable heavy industrial environment.
•    Have solid experience in managing technical departments or large multidisciplinary teams.

•    Having experience within large organizations.
•    Ability to communicate in both French and English is preferred.
•    A Train the Trainer certification and a Project Management certification are appreciated.

 

 

Technical skills.

 

•    Gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of mining operations (Mine, Process, Maintenance, Safety, Heavy Equipment, Refinery).
•    Mastering technical training in the industrial and mining sectors.
•    Structuring large-scale skills development systems.

•    Manage budgets effectively.
•    Designing job-specific training programs aligned with operational realities.
•    Integrate HSE requirements and operational risk management.

•    Linking training to safety, production and industrial performance.
