About the MARA Project:
The MARA Project is a copper and molybdenum development located in the Catamarca Province of Argentina. Positioned in the Andes Mountains at an elevation of around 2,600 meters above sea level, MARA integrates the Agua Rica deposit with the existing Alumbrera processing facilities to optimize resources and infrastructure. The MARA project is part of Glencore’s portfolio, one of the world’s largest globally diversified natural resource companies, and a leading producer and marketer of more than 90 essential commodities.
Qualifications:
• Completed secondary education.
• Training or foundational knowledge in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Certification as Occupational Health & Safety Assistant (desirable).
• Intermediate English proficiency (reading, writing, conversation – desirable).
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in a similar position.
• Previous experience working at remote sites.
Main Objectives of the Job:
• Provide administrative and operational support to the H&S department, ensuring effective document management.
• Support training coordination, compliance monitoring, and reporting activities across the MARA Project.
• Assist H&S leadership in managing procurement and contract-related processes.
• Maintain updated databases, statistical reports, and records essential for H&S performance monitoring.
• Serve as a point of contact for employees, contractors, and suppliers requiring H&S-related guidance or information.
Operational Context:
The role operates on-site at the MARA Project, working closely with supervisors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. The position follows a 4x3 roster and requires availability for travel as needed by the organization.
Control Elements:
• Weekly and monthly H&S reports.
• Oversight of contractor documentation.
• Up-to-date maintenance of H&S department databases.
• Follow-up and tracking of purchasing and contracting processes.

• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in document management.
• High ethical standards, confidentiality, and personal integrity.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid problem-solving skills and initiative.
• Commitment and responsibility toward assigned tasks.
• Knowledge of H&S Management Systems.
• Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Management:
• Maintain updated physical and digital H&S files: reports, certificates, permits, training records.
• Prepare, digitize, and archive documentation related to occupational risk prevention.
• Draft communications, memos, reports, and meeting minutes.
• Review contractor documentation to verify compliance with legal and corporate H&S standards.
• Provide support for equipment calibration tracking and purchasing processes.
2. Regulatory Compliance Support:
• Ensure alignment with Glencore’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
• Monitor documentation to ensure compliance with Argentine H&S legislation.
• Collect information for internal and external H&S audits.
• Support reporting to regulatory agencies (SRT, Provincial Mining Secretariat, Catamarca Mining Police, etc.).
3. Training and Activity Coordination:
• Coordinate logistics for training sessions, drills, workshops, and safety talks.
• Manage attendance records and participant evaluations.
• Liaise with H&S service providers (Medical Services, trainers, etc.).
4. Reporting Support:
• Collect data for developing H&S indicators (reactive and proactive).
• Assist in scheduling inspections and tracking corrective actions.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as the initial point of contact for H&S-related inquiries.
• Facilitate communication between staff, supervisors, management, and contractors.
Work Relationships and Structure:
• Internal relationships: H&S Manager – MARA, H&S Superintendent – MARA, H&S Supervisors, MARA Leadership Team, Operations personnel.
• External relationships: Regulatory authorities, contractor and supplier representatives.
