Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Job description.

 

 

Reporting directly to the Director of Strategic Minerals , the incumbent is responsible for supply chain performance and service management. They place particular emphasis on optimizing performance, ensuring service quality, and addressing the specific challenges and needs of the Supply Chain team . The role involves overseeing the entire supply chain lifecycle, while continuously seeking improvements in operational performance and service levels.

 

 

His/Her essential functions will include, among others (but are not limited to):

 

1.   Strategic planning and optimization:

•    Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with the overall objectives of the mining company, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency improvement and service levels.
•    Analyze market trends, key performance indicators (KPIs) and supply chain results, identify opportunities for improvement and optimize processes across the entire chain.
•    Contribute to strategic Supply Chain priorities , risk management, critical tasks and performance objectives.

•    Translate the global Supply Chain strategy and business priorities into a country-specific strategy, including critical tasks and performance objectives.

 

2.    Performance monitoring and reporting :

 

•    Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to the Supply Chain team.
•    Analyze supply chain data and metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and areas for continuous improvement, and present performance reports to management.
•    Provide national-level reporting and analytical support, ensuring integration into management routines.

 

3.    Service level management:

 

•    Ensure compliance with internal and external service level agreements, particularly regarding the timely delivery of materials and services essential to the proper functioning of mining operations.
•    Collaborating with operational teams to forecast demand and develop supply plans ensuring the availability of necessary resources.
 

4.    Risk management, compliance and sustainability:

 

•    Supply Chain processes and operations comply with sustainability objectives and regulatory requirements.
•    Promote a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process efficiency, reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
•    Leveraging digitalization and automation to improve visibility and decision-making.

 

5.    Continuous improvement and Lean principles:

 

•    Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes, reduce waste and improve resource utilization.
•    Use digitalization and automation to enhance visibility and facilitate decision-making.

 

6.    Leadership and team collaboration:

•    Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and finance, to ensure smooth coordination and alignment across the organization.

 

7.    Commercial value and supplier partnerships:

•    Provide effective support to improve business performance, achieve value creation objectives and work with relevant sales teams to ensure excellence.

 

8.    Supply Chain Excellence :

 

•    Identify and implement best practices through trend analysis, data and benchmarking.
•    Collaborating with subject matter experts from other disciplines to offer cross-functional solutions that support end-to-end processes and an optimized user experience.
•    Ensure that the Supply Chain effectively supports feedback for business and asset processes, by providing analytical data and coordinating Supply Chain support for improvement phases.

•    Working closely with regional and global teams to ensure alignment in governance, support and improvement.

 

9.    Sustainability and social responsibility:


•    Contribute to the development of the sustainability strategy and work program by providing the business and operational context.
•    To be responsible for responsible sourcing activities, including audits, supplier engagement, training and initiatives to prevent any potential human rights violations.

•    Supporting the development and implementation of operations-specific social and sustainable strategies to contribute to sustainable mining plans.

 

10.    Human Resources Management

 

•    Develop and strengthen the team's skills.
•    Ensure continuous training and development.
•    Managing performance, coaching and providing feedback to foster high-performing teams.

•    Maintaining employee engagement and motivation.

 


Job requirements.


Qualifications and experience.

 

•    Hold a university or higher degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or contract management;
•   Have at least ten (10) years of experience in supply chain management, including performance optimization, KPI monitoring, continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), risk management and team leadership in an industrial or mining environment;
•    Demonstrate at least 5 years of proven experience in a leadership role in procurement;

•    Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the mining or heavy industries;
•    Have a valid ONEM card.

 

 

Technical skills.

 

•    Strategic planning and supply chain optimization : Development and implementation of integrated plans aligned with business needs, with analysis of trends and CAPEX to guide decision-making.
•    Data analysis and forecasting : Using analytical tools to forecast demand, plan inventory, and support operational and strategic decisions.
•    Continuous improvement and digitalization : Optimization of Supply Chain processes through best practices, Lean/Six Sigma and digital solutions.

•    Risk management, compliance and safety : Implementation of risk management strategies, adherence to policies, procedures and sustainability initiatives, while ensuring health and safety.
•    Leadership and cross-functional communication : Ability to lead teams, collaborate with different functions and influence stakeholders to achieve common goals.
