About the role:
Reporting to the Lead, Environment Water Treatment, the Technician, Environment Water Treatment is responsible for providing data management and reporting support for the both the Fording River Operations South Active Water Treatment Facility and the Fording River Operations North Saturated Rockfill. The successful candidate will be on site two to three times a week and will spend the remainder of their time at MVO.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who can build positive relationships and demonstrate diligence, integrity, and environmental leadership. This person thrives in a fast-paced team environment and can prioritize and organize contending demands. Most importantly, we require an individual with outstanding analytical abilities, who can maintain and interpret large environmental data sets.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Review environmental compliance data to ensure data completion and accuracy
- Conduct data pulls and review data for trends and errors
- Coordinate data error corrections with internal and external labs
- Manage, graph, and analyze water quality data including conducting QA/QC
- Manage EQuIS database to ensure data is up to date and organized
- Maintain various data trackers to ensure obligations are being met
- Support development of external regulatory reports
- Manage and provide data for internal data requests
- Support internal laboratories on understanding environmental compliance requirements
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in an Environmental Science subject area
- Minimum one year experience in the field of environmental compliance or monitoring in the water treatment or resource management fields
- Technical knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, standards, and effective industry practices related to water management and resource development
- Experience with environmental data management software and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite®; especially Excel
- Knowledge of environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, water quality, water treatment, or fisheries is an asset
- Experience in water treatment is an asset
- EQuIS experience is an asset
