Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the direct supervision of the GM Resource Engineering and Integration, the role of the incumbent will be to coordinate and supervise all integrated planning activities linking mining operations to commercialization. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of internal processes in order to optimize performance and achieve the company's strategic objectives, while respecting safety, regulatory and environmental standards.

 

He/She will have, among others, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

 

  • Manage and control the integrated master plan. This includes developing, updating and overseeing a coherent plan covering all activities from mine to market, ensuring it is aligned with KCC's strategic objectives.
  • Assist the General Management in strategic planning. This includes supporting the GM Resource Engineering & Integration in defining, communicating, and implementing strategic initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with operational and technical leaders. This includes working closely with the COO, CTO, and COOs to harmonize processes and facilitate the adoption of best practices.
  • Integrate plans and schedules across all functions. This includes coordinating horizontally and vertically the schedules of the different departments to ensure optimal synchronization of activities.
  • Produce and analyze performance indicators. This includes collecting, analyzing, and reporting metrics related to plans and schedules, highlighting deviations from goals.
  • Identify and manage performance gaps. This includes analyzing the causes of deviations, reporting to management, and working with production, processing, and sales teams to develop turnaround plans.
  • Report regularly on the progress of integrated plans. This includes the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on the progress of the master plan, including confidence levels in the achievement of results.
  • Ensure the publication of the 24-month operational plan. This includes updating and regularly disseminating the operational plan for clear visibility over the medium-term period.
  • Support the development and implementation of Operational Management Standards (OMS). This includes contributing to the development and deployment of standards that govern operations and their performance.
  • Coordinate technical and business evaluations of planning scenarios. This includes ensuring the optimization of the value created by decisions by performing joint analyses between technical and business aspects.

 

Job Requirements 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • University degree in mining or process engineering, ideally complemented by training in management or finance.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in operational leadership roles in the mining sector.
  • Total commitment to occupational health and safety.
  • Ability to manage stress, meet tight deadlines, and support or manage change.


Technical skills

 

  • Proficiency in integrated planning tools and systems in the mining industry.
  • Advanced skills in strategic analysis and project/program management.
  • Strong understanding of the mining value chain, technical and business aspects.
  • Excellent team management skills, including at senior levels.
