Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

The Senior Dumps & Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for leading and optimizing the design, planning, and execution of waste dumps, ore stockpiles, haul roads, dewatering activities and supporting mine infrastructure. This role ensures that dump strategies are aligned with the life-of-mine plan, geotechnical requirements, and operational objectives. He/She will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across Mine Engineering, Geotechnical, and Operations teams to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable dump and infrastructure solutions.
He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):
- Essential Functions
- Lead the development and optimization of short, medium, and long-term waste dump designs and associated haul road networks.
- Run and deliver the Pit & Dump reconciliation for Monthly Budget.
- Oversee dump scheduling, monitoring, and reconciliation to ensure alignment with the life-of-mine strategy.
- Deliver the technical requirements for dewatering activities from pumping selection to pipelines, sumps & hydro.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure waste dump and stockpile designs meet geotechnical, environmental, and operational standards.
- Issue accurate mining control data to Survey and Production teams, ensuring precise field implementation.
- Act as the primary technical authority and key liaison for Operations regarding waste dumps, ore stockpiles, and infrastructure-related projects.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in dump design, material placement, and haulage efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures, standards, and best practices for dump and infrastructure engineering.
- Conduct field inspections and audits to verify compliance with design, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technical staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and professional development.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, fostering a culture of zero harm.
