Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor - Fireman, the incumbent of this role is an integral part of the Emergency Management Services team. He/She will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents. He/She will also have to be proactive on a daily basis by providing service to the company according to the principles of prevention, preparedness, intervention and recovery.
Minimum qualification
- Possess a national diploma in mechanics or other technical options,
- Possess a basic firefighter certificate or its equivalent,
Required Experience
- Demonstrate a minimum of one year's experience in a mining environment
Required skills
- Demonstrate the required skills, abilities, and attitudes for driving light-duty vehicles, and
- Intercultural skills and written communication in French. Fluency in basic English is an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fire extinguishers and report findings
- Check firefighting equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus before the start of each shift.
- Maintain and recondition fire extinguishers.
- Perform all maintenance services required as part of your job when necessary,
- Assist the firefighter in firefighting and rescue operations as needed,
- Perform cleaning of fire equipment during the inspection and after incidents,
- Perform assigned tasks in compliance with safety requirements
- Stop work when it is not safe
- Actively participate in exercises as part of the training, and
- Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy
