The Role
We are looking for a trade qualified Electrician with a strong involvement in electrical diagnostics, general maintenance and repairs to join us in the Electrical Maintenance department at GFM.

Reporting to the Electrical Mine Monitor Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and exceptional communication skills. Multiple rosters available for this role 7-7 Days only and 7-7 Day /Night.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Electrical and instrument inspections
  • Preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Fault finding and trouble-shooting electrical issues and breakdowns
  • Carry out general Electrical Functions within the workshop
  • HV and LV motors, variable speed drives, soft starters, PLC and conveyor systems
  • ABB systems
  • Testing of fixed plant equipment before, during and after repairs, maintenance and rebuilds
  • Carry out Inspections, servicing and maintenance on fixed plant equipment as required by the business
  • Parts replacement as required when servicing or repairing equipment
  • Ensure cleanliness of workshop environment and carry out general maintenance
  • Have the ability to attend off-site repairs and break-downs as required by the business
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Trade Qualified Electrician
  • Proven track record of electrical repairs and maintenance
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read parts diagrams and schematics
  • Some light fabrication skills required such as making brackets and mountings
  • Understanding of circuit diagrams and wiring
  • Installation of electrics and excellent overall electrical skills
  • Hard working, reliable and able to work unsupervised
  • Strong focus on completing the job safely and compliantly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
  • Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
