We are currently looking for a Injury Management Advisor who will report through to Health Superintendent for our Mt Isa mines HSEC team, this role is a residential position on a Monday to Friday roster – 9 day fortnight – yes every second Friday off!!

About the role

Mount Isa Mines is seeking a motivated Injury Management Advisor to join our Health Team within the HSEC Department. In this role, you will provide expert advice and support on workplace health, injury management and rehabilitation matters while helping facilitate successful return to work outcomes for employees.

 

Working closely with operational leaders, employees, medical practitioners and allied health providers, you will contribute to proactive health initiatives, injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation programs that support the wellbeing of our workforce. This is an excellent opportunity for a health professional who is passionate about workplace health, injury management and making a positive impact on employee wellbeing.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to operational personnel and leaders on health, injury management and occupational health matters.
  • Develop and support proactive workplace health strategies and initiatives that promote employee wellbeing.
  • Coordinate and facilitate early intervention programs to assist injured employees in achieving successful return to work outcomes.
  • Manage workplace rehabilitation processes, including the development and implementation of rehabilitation programs and recovery plans.
  • Work collaboratively with employees, operational teams, medical practitioners and allied health providers to support injury management activities.
  • Ensure workers' compensation and health management activities align with relevant legislation, company standards and best practice.

 

Required experience

You will bring experience in workplace rehabilitation, injury management and return to work coordination, along with a sound understanding of medical terminology and workers' compensation processes. Experience developing proactive health strategies and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across operational and healthcare environments will be highly regarded. Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Allied Health Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Registered Nurse with AHPRA or Exercise Physiologist with ESSA registration desirable.
  • Understanding of Queensland Workers' Compensation legislation.
  • Experience in workplace rehabilitation and injury management.
  • Ability to develop and implement proactive workplace health strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.
