Glencore are currently advertising for a Specialist ServiceNow Developer for a 12 month fixed term vacancy that exists at either our Townsville or Brisbane operation. This role is working a Monday–Friday roster.

About the role
The ServiceNow Platform Developer plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing a global, multi-module Service Now platform used across seven countries and multiple business functions including ITSM, HR, Finance, and ERP integration. Operating within a fast paced, 24/7 enterprise environment, the role focuses on ensuring platform stability, security, and continuous improvement while contributing to a forward looking digital roadmap. The position sits within a collaborative IS&T team and offers the opportunity to influence platform direction, deliver innovative solutions, and support enterprise wide transformation. The role reports directly to the Specialist – ServiceNow System, with no direct reports, and works closely with global IS&T teams and broader business stakeholders
Key responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and enhance the global ServiceNow platform
- Deliver development across ITSM, HR, Finance, and ERP workflows
- Support platform stability in a 24/7 operational environment
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and translate requirements
- Contribute to Agile delivery, sprint planning, and roadmap initiatives
- Support data integrity across CMDB, catalogues, integrations, and portals
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience administering or developing ServiceNow within a complex enterprise environment, with strong technical capability across scripting, configuration, and integrations. They will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a global team, actively contribute to design and decision making, and show curiosity and adaptability to grow across the platform. A proactive mindset, combined with the ability to challenge ideas constructively and deliver scalable solutions, is essential for success in this role.
You will have the following skills:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – essential
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (CIS-ITSM) – essential
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline (preferred)
- ITIL Foundation certification or strong understanding of ITSM frameworks (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience developing or administering ServiceNow in an enterprise environment
- Strong scripting capability, particularly in JavaScript and ServiceNow platform tools (workflows, business rules, UI policies)
- Proven experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and MID Server
- Ability to work within Agile delivery frameworks with exposure to sprint planning and iterative development
