Glencore Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for a Reliability Lubrication Technician at the Copper Smelter, an integral part of the Reliability Team.

The Role 
This position reports to the Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer. You will monitor, maintain, repair and improve the lubrication systems across the Copper Smelter to maximize the reliability of rotating equipment. You will service and lubricate a wide range of assets including cranes, conveyors, pumps, compressors, crushers, fans and more. This is a residentially based position in Mount Isa working a Monday to Thursday 12hr dayshift roster. You may occasionally be required to work additional hours to suit business needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Works including, monitoring, maintaining, repair and improved the oil and grease systems
  • Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Taking oil samples as part of the condition monitoring strategy, and executing the correctives based on the reports
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping
You will have the following skillset and attributes:   
  • Minimum experience of 3 years within the mining industry is preferred
  • Trade qualification – Fitter (Mechanical) is preferred
  • The ability to adapt to change in duties from day to day
  • Current manual driver’s license
  • Experience with lubrication and hydraulic systems – automatic grease lubrication systems, permalubes etc
  • Experience with taking condition monitoring – taking oil samples and interpreting oil analysis reports
  • Sound computer skills – SAP and Microsoft Office
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety
  • A self-motivated attitude and enjoy working in small yet highly productive team

  • Current Forklift Ticket
  • Current EWP Ticket
  • Level 1 qualification in Vibration Analyst (VCAT 1) 
  • Level 1 qualification in Machine Lubricant Analyst (MLA 1)
