Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking applications for vacancies within the Mines Power Station for the role of Auxiliary Plant Attendant (Operator Maintainer). Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this challenging role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of activities while developing your technical skills and industry knowledge within a multidisciplinary team environment.

This residential position is based in Mount Isa and operates on an even-time continuous shift roster (7D/7O/7N/7O). Flexibility may occasionally be required in relation to work hours and roster arrangements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Operating and maintaining power generation, oxygen plants, and both high and low pressure compressed air assets
  • Collaborating with tradespeople and engineers within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ensuring operational targets are achieved while maintaining efficient and reliable plant performance
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification
  • Boiler and /or Turbine High Risk License is desirable, however, training will be provided for the right candidate
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work effectively within a small, high-performing team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
