Metallurgist Plant – Concentrators

Reporting to the Senior Plant Metallurgist, you will be responsible for achieving the performance targets and for improving the capability of the Concentrators, implementing operational and metallurgical controls and for delivering improvement projects.
You will use your skills and creativity to identify appropriate solutions to technical opportunities and challenges, and you will work collaborative with people within Operations, Geology, Mining, and Glencore Technology in implementing them.
You will liaise with Geologists, Mining Engineers, and Metallurgists within the smelters to create integrated production schedules that optimise value for the company.
In this permanent, residential role, you will analyse plant performance on a daily basis and provide clear, consistent technical direction to Production teams to ensure stable and efficient operations. You will deliver technical support to Concentrator Operations, driving process improvements to achieve daily and weekly production targets, while also undertaking inspections, failure prediction and analysis on critical equipment. Working across the Mine–Mill–Smelter value chain, you will contribute to broader optimisation strategies and identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency and reduce operating costs.
The successful candidate will bring at least three years’ experience in mineral processing plants, with strong base metals exposure across grinding and flotation circuits. You will demonstrate sound process improvement capability, experience working with online analysers (OSA/MSA/PSI), and a proven ability to work safely within a Concentrator environment while leading by example. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels are essential.
