Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a Project Engineer - Mechanical vacancy that exists in the Smelter Projects Department. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of challenging and rewarding mechanical projects within a dynamic and safety-focused environment. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 5/2 4/3 roster.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, efficient, and compliant outcomes in line with operational and business objectives.

Required Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate relevant industry experience and a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and teamwork. You will possess strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and adapt to a dynamic work environment. Experience working within mining, resources, heavy industry, or a similar operational setting will be highly regarded, along with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
- A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- A strong commitment to safety leadership, fostering a positive safety culture and adherence to safe work practices.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, including project scoping, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance activities.
- Proven success in delivering mechanical projects, with the ability to manage multiple project phases from concept through to completion.
- Well-developed problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet project objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business and project management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
