Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for an Auto Electrician working in the Mobile Asset Maintenance team.   This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a working a 7/7 day and night shift roster. We encourage suitably qualified and experienced local candidates to apply. For those candidates located outside of Mount Isa, relocation support is available for this position to enable you and your family to live and work in Mount Isa.

About the role

This position reports to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for safely and effectively performing planned and reactive maintenance tasks on a wide range of mobile mining equipment. You will work as part of a skilled trade team, ensuring high standards of quality, workmanship and safety across all maintenance activities.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Demonstrate and promote a high level of safety commitment
• Perform planned servicing, repairs and preventive maintenance change?outs
• Conduct breakdown work and field?based repairs as required
• Work both independently and within a multi?disciplinary trade team
• Apply consistent and thorough standards when maintaining site vehicles and equipment
• Carry out electrical work on Caterpillar, Sandvik, Epiroc, Normet and Komatsu equipment
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise fleet performance

About you – skills and experience:

 

You will bring:

• Trade qualification – Auto Electrical
• Ability to read and interpret auto electrical schematics
• Strong fault?finding capability across electrical systems and machinery
• Experience using OEM diagnostic tools efficiently
• Current Australian manual driver’s licence
• Ability to work safely, communicate effectively and contribute positively to a team environment
