Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a Fitter vacancy that exists in the Lead Smelter Department. This is an excellent opportunity to further your experience and develop your technical skills and industry knowledge. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a 4/4/4/2 roster.

The Role 
Reporting to the Supervisor - Maintenance, you will provide effective maintenance in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner to ensure that production and statutory requirements are met.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Repair and maintenance of fixed plant within the Lead Smelter
  • Undertaking preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on equipment such as pumps, conveyor systems and hydraulic systems
  • High and safe quality of work conducted and maintained
The successful candidate will possess: 
  • Trade qualification – Fitter (Mechanical) essential
  • Current manual driver’s license
  • Experience within mining/heavy industry environment will be highly regarded
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems when required
  • Flexible in terms of rosters and possible changes to roster when required as per business needs.
