The Role
A full-time internal vacancy currently exists in our Mount Isa Mines site Laboratory team for a Technician - Laboratory reporting to the Senior Chemist - Laboratory. This position is a physically demanding role, as you will be required to provide timely sampling of concentrates at the point of delivery on site and, accurately prepare and analyse these samples. This role will also deliver opportunities to work in other areas of the Laboratory Services group as requirements evolve. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and occasionally may require you to be flexible in terms of work times and rosters.

You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Science or Chemistry (highly desirable)
- Minimum two year Laboratory experience in a similar environment
- A variety of related Laboratory competencies
- The ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- Knowledge of plant and mine sample types
- Experience with LIMS for data entry and reporting
- Competency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Manual Driver’s License
- The ability to maintain relationships with delivery truck drivers, ISF supervisors and production planning team
- A strong commitment to safety and the environment
