We are seeking applications for a 12-month fixed term Supervisor- Mines Rescue.  This position is advertised for internal employees only. A person with local knowledge of not only the site and who to contact for assistance when required, as well as the policies, procedures and processes and how things are done here in Mine Rescue at Mt Isa Mines will go a long way to keeping things consistent within the rescue team.

A Draft training roster and training day exercise program will be in place for 2026 as well as organising and scheduling training days amongst other tasks that will require your attention. 

The tasks the Mines Rescue Supervisor will be responsible are below:

  • Continued recruitment of Rookies for a pending rookie training course
  • Maintaining site wide Defibrillators
  • Maintenance of Mine Rescue equipment as per the maintenance schedule
  • Interactions with the QFD (Queensland Fire Department) and QAS (Queensland Ambulance Service) with surface and underground familiarisations
  • Maintaining rescue station consumables and other expenditure while working within the budget allocations
  • Work closely with the Superintendent of Safety, Risk and Emergency on rescue and emergency tasks
  • Maintain the teams medical and fitness compliance
  • Approving the monthly On-call Roster
  • Facilitating Training days for the continued skills matrix
About you: 
  • Minimum 5 years underground and emergency coordination experience.
  • Capable of leading site emergency response teams, coordinating incident response, and implementing emergency management systems
  • Hold cert IV in trainer and Assessor is advantageous
