The Role

As the Senior – HSEC Data Reporting and Analytics, you will provide specialised technical support to strengthen GMA’s HSEC data and reporting capability. The role is responsible for developing and implementing effective data analysis processes and systems that align with GMA’s broader HSEC strategy. You will manage and maintain HSEC system data to ensure it meets all compliance and reporting requirements, with a strong focus on accuracy, integrity and timely submission. The position also contributes to ongoing system improvements, including enhancements, upgrades and troubleshooting activities. Working closely with site and corporate teams, you will support consistent data practices across the portfolio and provide insights that assist in monitoring performance and meeting HSEC objectives.

Key Requirements

This role requires demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining advanced Power BI dashboards and reports to support HSEC performance tracking and operational decision-making, along with strong capability in managing, validating and maintaining HSEC data to ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity across all systems. You will need proven experience overseeing corporate and regulatory reporting requirements and delivering compliant, timely submissions, as well as leading the design, implementation and continuous improvement of reporting and analytics processes, including automation and standardisation of key metrics. The role demands the ability to interpret complex data and present insights to senior leadership on trends, risks and opportunities, and to work collaboratively with site and corporate HSEC teams to translate reporting needs into effective analytics solutions. A commitment to safety leadership and adherence to relevant HSEC policies, standards and procedures is essential, as is experience managing and optimising resources to improve efficiency and reduce cost. The position also requires the ability to contribute positively to team culture through coaching, mentoring and building capability across reporting and analytics functions.

 

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS and/or ICT, supported by 5+ years of operational experience in complex organisational environments (mining preferred);
  • Proven experience in HSEC reporting and analytics, ideally within high-risk or heavy industry settings;
  • Demonstrated capability in designing, implementing and continuously improving contemporary HSEC reporting and analytics technologies, systems and tools;
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling and the development of high-quality visualisations;
  • Strong background in data validation, cleansing, governance and ensuring high standards of data accuracy and integrity;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights in a clear and impactful way;
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage effective customer and stakeholder relationships to support the delivery of business outcomes;
  • Effective decision-making skills, with the ability to utilise available resources to achieve goals and drive results;
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels;
  • Familiarity with HSEC management systems, regulatory frameworks and ESG reporting requirements;
  • Qualifications or experience in a HSEC discipline;
  • Experience with SQL, Python or other relevant data tools and technologies.
