We currently have a vacancy for a Controller – Projects in our Asset Management department within the Surface Engineering team. This team works over four major processing facilities; the Copper Concentrator, the Lead Zinc Concentrator, the Lead Smelter and the Copper Smelter.

The Role
This role is a full-time permanent position based residentially in Mount Isa on a 5/2 | 4/3 lifestyle roster. We offer a competitive salary, 13% superannuation, and other monetary benefits but the real value comes from the development and experiences you gain from this role. The newly formed Queensland Metals Surface Engineering team covers an extensive asset portfolio including two concentrators and two smelters.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts aligned with approved baselines.
  • Manage cost control, forecasting, accruals, procurement and financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement to optimise project delivery.
  • Prepare project performance reports analysing cost, schedule and risk trends.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Finance and stakeholders to ensure accurate data and reporting.
  • Maintain data integrity across SAP, Contruent, and Power BI systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Governance frameworks and support audits and close-out activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in mining or other relevant operating industrial sectors,
  • 5+ years relevant SAP (or other similar CMMS) Asset Management master data experience
  • Relevant project control or similar project planning experience throughout all stages of project delivery,
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills,
  • Experienced in use of Microsoft suite especially Microsoft Project and Excel,
