Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Jumbo Operator to join the Operations department (P49 section) at George Fisher Mine. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa.

The Role
We are looking for a results-focused and ambitious individual to join us in the role of Jumbo Operator. Reporting to the Supervisor – P49 C Crew, you will be required safely operate Jumbo development drills in order to mine headings and install ground support in accordance with mine standards. The roster for this role is 7 on, 7 off (days and nights) continuous shift.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Mining to design, on grade, on line and on time
  • Adhering to all job directives and procedures, including ensuring the correct signage and barricades are used at all times
  • Operating equipment to minimise damage, reporting damage and washing down the jumbo
  • The completion of shift reports and the communication of accurate information to cross-shift
  • Ensuring the work area is left in a clean and tidy manner
  • Following safety practices and procedures when undertaking work
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Significant (4+ years) experience preferred operating a jumbo
  • Ability to operate a Sandvik Axera 7, DD420 or DD421 development drill
  • A proven safety and performance record
