The Role
The Superintendent Shared Financial Services is a leadership position, reporting directly to the Manager Financial Shared Services for Glencore Metals Australia. This position is suited to a results-driven finance professional with experience in performing and supervising shared financial services, including financial accounting activities, payroll, and other transactional finance processes.
The ideal candidate will be skilled at leading integrated teams, optimizing financial processes, enhancing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, employment legislation, and internal policies.
In this role, you will promote collaboration across various departments to enhance operational efficiency and ensure team effectiveness. You will maintain effective working relationships with site management teams, as well as Human Resources, IT, Treasury, Tax, and Corporate functions.
Your focus will be on identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial resource utilisation, while ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial outcomes that meet the organisation’s statutory and internal requirements.
Key Requirements
The position requires you to be a degree-qualified finance professional with CA or CPA accreditation and a thorough understanding of both Australian and International Accounting Standards. You will bring deep financial skills and the capability to lead teams and implement meaningful changes. In this role, you will oversee the shared financial services across all Glencore Metals Australian operations, while advancing process improvement and ensuring compliance.
The chosen applicant will possess:
- Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
- CA or CPA qualified, with extensive technical knowledge of AASB and IFRS standards;
- Demonstrated experience leading financial accounting, payroll and other transactional finance functions;
- Aptitude for implementing change, improving processes, and securing operational efficiencies;
- Experience monitoring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, supporting regular audits and reviews;
- Skilled ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial goals and operational strategies;
- Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
