Mount Isa Mines is currently advertising an exciting new staff position of Technician – Condition Monitoring, reporting to the Zinc Processing Maintenance team. This role will see you become an integral part of team, living and working residentially with a working roster of 5/2/4/3.

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Trade Qualification: Mechanical/Hydraulics.
  • Cat 1 Vibration Analysis training or equivalent experience
  • Cat 1 Thermographic Inspection or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in oil analysis
  • Hydraulics/Fluid Power knowledge/experience
  • SAP experience or sufficient proficiency with PC/Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Working within a team environment, however demonstrates the ability to work autonomously
  • A solid commitment to safety and a diligent work mindset
  • Ability to develop a positive team culture of accountability and performance through mentoring and coaching
  • Knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements for minerals processing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory and legal frameworks


Experience in the following is an advantage:

  • Mechanical and Hydraulics problem diagnosis.
  • Interpretation of technical drawings.
  • S1/S2/S3 or supervisory/leadership experience
  • Certifications in Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Instrumentation, Hydraulics, Precision Alignment, Ultrasonics NDT
  • Demonstrated experience in instrumentation analysis (preferably mineral processing related) DCS/PI


Working across two plants this role would include:

  • Responsible for reviewing, completing and closing out all assigned maintenance tasks
  • Booking/management of labour hours accurately, identifying resource requirements
  • Identification of additional maintenance activities where required
  • Ability to optimize assigned resources and continuous improvement to minimize cost/waste
  • Diagnosis of mechanical issues, Thermal & Vibration sample collection/inspections & reporting
  • Assisted Supervision of team members and contractors.
