The Role
The MIM Site services Workshop services Mount Isa Mine, George Fisher Mine, and McArthur River Mine. The workshop is looking for a qualified boilermaker to join the team, The position will cover a diverse range of Boiler making tasks from Mobile equipment repairs to Fixed Plant Equipment Repairs in a workshop environment. Experienced Boilermakers with 5 years plus experience are requested to apply, competitive Salaries are available for the right candidates.
This is a residential role in Mount Isa, working a 48-hour week 4/3 or a 56- hour week 5/2 roster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Structural steel Fabrication
- Structural repairs on dump truck trays, buckets, and attachments
- Crack repairs, wear package fitting, and hard facing
- Welding and fabrication to AS/NZS 1554 standards
- Processing steel to precise measurements through workshop equipment
- Complete all work to a high standard of accuracy and quality
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work completed
- Communicate effectively with team members and management
- Ensuring safe work behaviours for yourself and your fellow team members
The successful applicants will have:
- Proven Skills in Ore Chute Fabrication and repairs, Bucket Rebuilds, Crack Repairs
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to Perform welding and fabrication tasks on heavy mobile equipment, including but not limited to dozers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Must possess great time management skills, working independently and in a team.
- Must have a solid knowledge base around most facets of this field, cutting, gouging, folding, fabricating, Plate Rolling welding and quality control.
- Must have an Australian recognised trade qualification - Boilermaker (Fabrication)
- Ability Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate welding procedures.
- Hold a current manual Australian driver’s license
- Forklift ticket, basic rigger/doggers/HR ticket and gantry crane would be an advantage
