Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for the position of Roads & Waste Operator Leading Hand. Reporting to the Supervisor Roads & Waste, this position is residentially based in Mount Isa. The working roster for this position is 5/2 day shift only.

You will be responsible for:
- Assisting the supervisor and crew with maintaining the sealed roads, haul roads, signage, road & rail infrastructure across MIM lease
- Other areas include the MIM landfill, site waste collection and scrap steel disposal across the mine site
- Proactive and strong commitment to safety
- Previous heavy industry experience would be an advantage
- Preferred experience in the use of heavy mobile equipment
- S1, S2, S3 essential
- HR truck license and forklift ticket would also be an advantage
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft software
- Valid manual driver’s license
- Flexible attitude and sound work ethic
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to achieve results within the specified time frames
- Coordinating personnel (including contractors) and equipment required to fulfil the role, crew safety adherence as per site standards and procedures,
- Knowledge of best practice road maintenance and waste management would be highly advantageous
- Strong customer service along with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervision
