Glencore Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising vacancies exist for Equipment Operators. 

The Role 
Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for roles in the Isa Surface Operations team for Equipment Operators. The Isa Surface Operational teams provide bulk materials handling and road maintenance to various departments across the Mount Isa Mines lease. The positions are residentially based in Mount Isa.  

These positions report to the ISF Shift Supervisors currently on 4 Day Shifts on, 4 Days Off, 4 Nights on, 4 Days Off, 12hour day, 42hour week. Experience operating dump trucks and water carts is essential, while prior loader experience is highly advantageous but not required, as training and development will be provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Operating a variety of Heavy Earth Moving equipment.
• Working with other departments, contractors and teams to support production targets are safely met.
• Maintaining a high level of safety in the way we work.
• Monitoring, reporting and conducting thorough equipment prestart inspection.
• Safe operation of machinery across site and positive communication.

You will have the following skillset and attributes:

• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
• Ability to achieve results within the specified time frames.
• Strong customer focus is required as well as a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervision.
• Proven experience in heavy machinery operations would be advantageous but not essential.
