Glencore Metals Australia are seeking a new team member to join the team, as a Engineer – Structural Integrity.

About the role:

Glencore Metals Australia is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to work on structural integrity and regulatory compliance at our Mt Isa site.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist with structural condition assessments, inspections and risk evaluations for plant, buildings and infrastructure.
  • Develop remediation scopes, engineering designs, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Prioritise remediation activities based on risk, safety, operational impact and budget.
  • Manage contractors and third-party specialists (tendering, scopes, quality assurance, HSE compliance).
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams to implement remedial works.
  • Prepare technical reports, inspection records, design calculations and asset registers.
  • Ensure works comply with relevant Australian standards, legislation and Glencore policies.
  • Monitor program schedule, budget and performance; report progress to stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement, asset lifecycle planning and risk mitigation initiatives.
About you: 
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered status or working towards registration highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural engineering, inspections and remediation in heavy industry, mining or processing environments.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site programs and delivering contractor-led remediation works.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian structural codes and standards (AS/NZS), welding and materials degradation mechanisms.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain site-specific certifications and permits
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible on-site hours when required.
