Role Purpose
Three HRIS systems are being consolidated into one system (Workday). HCM implementation is commencing, led by the global team, and will be implemented by January 2027. This role is an opportunity to be part of the system design and implementation, with long term substantive role as Senior – Workday Analyst.
The successful candidate will be the Australian subject matter authority for Workday across Glencore Metals Australia (GMA).
This role owns the integrity, optimisation and governance of Workday within Australia, ensuring the system enables operational efficiency, compliance and strategic workforce insight across geographically dispersed mining and processing assets.
Operating within global Workday governance frameworks, this position translates Australian operational requirements into scalable, compliant system solutions and acts as the primary escalation point for complex system issues.
This position is based residentially in Brisbane, requiring a minimum of four (4) days in office and one (1) day remote allowed per week.
Scope & Impact

This role directly impacts payroll accuracy, workforce compliance, audit outcomes and executive workforce reporting.
Key Accountabilities
1. Workday Superuser Authority
- Act as the Australian escalation point for complex Workday issues.
- Own local configuration integrity within global design constraints.
- Assess and coordinate impact of biannual Workday releases.
- Lead UAT cycles for Australian changes.
- Maintain system documentation, change logs and governance controls
- Identify and deliver enhancements that improve HR operational efficiency.
- Reduce manual interventions and process workarounds.
- Optimise business process frameworks aligned to Australian industrial environments.
- Drive digital adoption across HR
- Ensure system alignment with Australian employment legislation and enterprise agreements.
- Partner with Payroll to maintain data accuracy and system control integrity.
- Support audit, compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Monitor data quality and proactively mitigate risk exposures.
- Develop executive dashboards and operational reporting.
- Translate workforce data into actionable insights for HR and business leaders.
- Ensure integrity of headcount, labour cost and workforce metrics.
- Act as primary Australian interface with Global Workday governance.
- Provide training and capability uplift to HR users.

You will have the following skills and experience:
Technical
- Advanced Workday HCM expertise (5+ years).
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and business process configuration.
- Experience within Australian payroll and industrial relations environments.
- Advanced Workday reporting and calculated field capability.
- Experience supporting integrations and system testing cycles.
Commercial & Behavioural
- Strong risk awareness and governance mindset.
- High attention to detail and data integrity.
- Able to operate autonomously within a global framework.
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement orientation.
Qualifications
- Degree in HR, Information Systems, Business or related field.
- Workday certifications will be highly regarded.
