About the role:  

Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, the Senior Lead, Projects is responsible for providing oversight and supervision of site projects from early planning to through to design, execution and handover to operations.  You will be responsible ensuring delivery of professional outcomes that meet business needs by utilizing EVR’s project development framework to manage scope, quality, cost, and schedule. 

To be successful, we are looking for someone with experience in project management, stakeholder management and a solid understanding of financial and general business acumen to enable informed decision-making and alignment with organizational objectives.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment and can effectively engage with internal and external project stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts and Senior Management. The ability to think critically and balance competing priorities while providing sound recommendations aligned with business needs is crucial for success in this role, alongside strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies  
  • Mentor and develop skills of the project team 
  • Manage the development of project execution plans and appropriation requisitions including scope definition, schedule, budget, purchase orders/invoice set up, tracking and reviewing, permitting, risk identification and mitigation 
  • Complete financial planning for the program, with accountability for program-wide budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking as well as review, preparation, and delivery of reports 
  • Coordinate with engineering, environment, permitting, construction management, procurement, operations, and safety to ensure projects are delivered within technical and operational requirements 
  • Apply project management best practices, including effective utilization of the EVR Project Framework 
  • Provide contract management/supervision of contractors and consultants through the life of the project 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mining, Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Geoscience, Environmental Sciences or related field; although equivalent combination of education and experience also considered 
  • Minimum eight years mining or project management experience required  
  • Registered, or eligible to register in British Columbia as a Professional (eg. PMP, P.Eng, PAg, RPBio) 
  • Experience with feasibility studies, provincial and federal regulatory approvals, field monitoring and sampling programs, environmental practices and legislation 
  • Flexibility and creativity in dealing with scheduling, mine planning and other complex issues 
  • Motivated self-starters, able to work under minimal supervision and able to manage several projects simultaneously 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Visio 
  • Experience with mine planning or 3D software such as MineSight or GIS is an asset 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent  
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
