In this role, you will:
The Water Management Co-op will be responsible for supporting the hydrometric monitoring data collection programs in and around the mine. Supporting the monthly reconciliation of water flows, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Responsible for maintaining accurate records and databases. Checking and maintaining hydrometric field equipment.
- Performing daily checks of flow instrumentation to ensure instrumentation are functioning correctly and data is being accurately recorded.
- Supporting monthly reporting and maintaining accurate records, and contributing to technical summaries and reports.
- Required to be adept with Excel or other data analysis tools to organize and analyze environmental and operational data
- Conducting fieldwork safely and effectively in mining or industrial conditions, including travel to remote sites.
- Required to work outside in all conditions for extended hours, completing water quality sampling programs and flow measurements.
- Operating a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive in mining conditions is required.
- Supporting teams with the use, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of water instrumentation used to track and measure flows.
- Assisting with environmental compliance tasks deemed by regulations, permits, and internal water management plans
- Maintaining and updating work instructions to ensure they remain accurate and aligned with current practices.
Requirements:
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry or Hydrology
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions
- Able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
- Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
