Reporting to the Health and Safety Supervisor, the Coordinator, Safety & Loss Control is responsible for the administration and coordination of site safety programs. This position will be dedicated to being a resource for Greenhills operating groups, focused on ensuring Health and Safety of employees and contractors. This role will operate on a 5x2 schedule rotation.

To be successful, we require someone with a passion for continuous improvement who can multitask, stay organized, and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment. This person is self-motivated, and possesses strong attention to detail, and problem-solving and decision-making abilities. This role requires a high level of integrity and an ability to know your audience, thus presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are vital.

In this role you will:

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Apply continuous improvement processes and systems to improve health and safety performance
Advise, coach, and support the workforce to ensure proper fatal hazard protocols are implemented, and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements are fulfilled
Coordinate and administer the following safety systems and programs: Incident Reporting System, internal and external site tours, HSEC assurance audits, inspections, contractor management, and visual field leadership activities
Support the effective implementation of EVR’s Health & Safety Management System, SafeCoal

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite®
Working knowledge of applicable HSRC regulations or similar
Experience in practical and theoretical safety and loss control in mining or other heavy industrial environment is an asset
Class 5 driver’s license

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
