Glencore’s Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations include exploration, Onaping Depth Project (Craig Mine), Strathcona Mill and the Sudbury Smelter. The company has been mining nickel-copper ores in the Sudbury area of Northern Ontario since 1929.  It currently employs approximately 950 permanent employees.

The position will be based in Onaping, Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

Range of Pay: $38.13 per hours, plus applicable bonuses

Work location is not accessible by public transportation, must have a valid driver's license and access to vehicle.

Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering Co-op placement

Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations is offering:

• One – 8 month co-op placement (January 2027 to August 2027) opportunity involving work assignments and projects within our Technical group located at the Strathcona Mill in Onaping, Ontario. We are recruiting for a Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering co-op student for placement in 2027.

The Technical Services group encompasses process engineering, energy and metallurgical accounting.  The team supports day to day operations as well as driving innovation and continuous improvement through studies, trials and projects.  Applicants must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and flexibility is required with respect to working in Operations, Engineering and Project Execution.  The successful applicant must adhere to our core values on safety performance in the workplace. Work will be mainly day shift, Monday to Friday and time is spent both in the office and in the operating plant.

Preference will be given to students who have completed equivalent of second year or higher in a College or University Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering program, but other qualifications will also be considered.    Familiarity with the MS Office suite of computer programs is essential.

The specific areas of exposure and work tasks will be determined by the profile of active projects during the student’s work term, the experience level of the student and the duration of the work term.
