The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Pipefitter to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.
The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Onaping), Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.
The hourly wage rate is $44.39 per hour, the position is eligible for applicable bonuses.
This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Works in compliance with the Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations safety rules and the internal responsibility system.
Performs work in accordance with drawings and specifications or to established company procedure, existing regulations or to acceptable trades standards.
Maintains cleanliness at worksite and in shops, ensures that tools and equipment are in good working order.
Lays out work; calculates dimensions and radii of bends; makes sketches of piping.
Sets up and operates bending, threading, cut-off machines and oxy-acetylene burning equipment. Uses hand tools to shape and fabricate piping.
Tests, inspects, installs, dismantles, repairs and cleans all types of high- or low-pressure piping, fillings, fixtures and parts utilized in the maintenance, construction and repair of air, water, steam, fuel, gas and chemical process or service lines.
Makes and seals all types of joints; installs gaskets, packing and pipe supports; tests joints for leaks.
Cuts pipe and special angles to fabricate offsets, elbows, and tees. Sets up pipe for welding.
Performs other related duties as required.
About You
Applicants must have a Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber or Steamfitter.
