The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Environment/Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a full-time, temporary contract, unionized position.

Rate of Pay: $43.62 per hour plus applicable bonuses.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities

Incumbent in this position will anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and recommend control for all environmental workplace hazards that may affect the health of the workforce and the external environment.

Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your growth in this role.

Education and Skills

Minimum three-year technology degree in environment, health science, engineering or a related science. Requires thorough knowledge of the EPA, OWRA, OHSA, WHMIS, and appropriate federal environmental statutes, ISO 14001 and associated environmental management systems.

Must be able to operate all monitoring equipment.

Must possess exceptional organizational skills, presentation skills, and writing skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills; requires proficiency in Microsoft office.

Must possess a valid drivers license.
