About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Drill Support / Service Person to assist our Production and Horizontal Drilling teams. This role is critical in ensuring drilling operations run efficiently by providing timely support, maintaining equipment readiness, and assisting operators and maintenance teams in achieving safety and production targets.

You will work closely with drillers, maintenance teams and supervisors to support blast hole and horizontal drilling activities, contributing to safe, productive, and compliant operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drill operators with daily drilling activities and setup
  • Conduct pre-start checks, refuelling, greasing, water fill ups and general servicing of drill rigs and support equipment
  • Maintain clean and organised drill sites, including housekeeping around rigs
  • Manage consumables such as drill rods, bits, fluids, and tooling
  • Assist with rod handling, alignment, and equipment positioning
  • Monitor and report hazards, ground conditions, and equipment issues
  • Support breakdown response and minor maintenance tasks
  • Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, environmental controls, and operational standards
  • Work collaboratively with Production Drillers, HDD Operators, and site personnel

 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience working in mining, civil, or drilling environments (highly regarded)
  • Exposure to drill support, off siding, or service crew roles preferred
  • Current Open Driver’s Licence (HR desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safety, hazard identification, and site procedures
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments
  • Current RII for (highly regarded)
    • Forklift
    • Slew / Non Slew Crane
    • Vehicle Loading Crane
    • Riggers/Doggers ticket
    • Telehandler
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop within drilling operations
