We are seeking an experienced Study Manager to lead the delivery of complex capital studies and projects within a dynamic, engineering consulting environment.
This is a senior, site-based role in Falconbridge (Sudbury) where you will take ownership of multidisciplinary studies across pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes, working with global teams and directly influencing major capital investment decisions.

What You’ll Do
Lead Study & Project Delivery
- Manage end-to-end capital studies (PEA, PFS, FS) and support execution-stage projects
- Deliver integrated solutions across pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy
- Define scope, manage deliverables, and ensure alignment with client objectives
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
- Manage study budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation
- Optimize commercial outcomes through sound decision-making and trade-off analysis
- Oversee scope management, contract compliance, and change negotiations
- Establish and manage controls for cost, schedule, risk, and change
- Monitor performance using tools such as earned value, CPI, and S-curves
- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and reporting standards
- Identify and mitigate technical and project risks
- Lead risk management processes and maintain study risk registers
- Support resolution of project changes, deviations, and claims
- Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
- Present clear, data-driven recommendations to support investment decisions
- Coordinate teams across multiple geographies and time zones
- Continuously improve systems, processes, and delivery approaches
- Drive performance through metrics and data
- Promote innovation, simplicity, and efficiency in execution
- Degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Process, Materials or other relevant degree)
- 15+ years of experience, including:
- 5+ years in project or study management
- Strong background in project controls
- Experience in mining, smelting, refining, or industrial consulting
- Exposure to pyrometallurgical and/or hydrometallurgical processes
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills
- Experience with MS Project (or similar tools); PMP is an asset
- Ability to lead teams and manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects
