About the role:
 
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Environmental Management Systems, the Lead, Environmental Management Systems is responsible for the Health, Safety, Environment, Communities and Human Rights (HSEC&HR) Management System for Sustainable Development. The position will work closely with all departments and the assets to ensure the HSEC&HR Management System is meeting both Glencore and EVR standards. In addition, this role supports sustainability and compliance improvements, as well as reporting activities. 
 
We are seeking a proactive team member with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, who can effectively influence others. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in operations, management systems such as ISO14001, data analysis, and environmental compliance.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to EVR’s standards and policies
  • Implement and maintain an HSEC&HR management system within Sustainable Development ensuring alignment to EVR and Glencore’s HSEC&HR standards and procedures
  • Develop and provide teams with systems training and processes that simplify workflows from permit approval to obligation tracking and execution
  • Facilitate the implementation of regulation changes across EVR by communicating the change and ensure the change occurs across EVR
  • Support Sustainability Reporting and assurance by monitoring and reporting data completeness, accuracy, and variances to asset teams
  • Support the administration of the Sustainability Reporting database
  • Maintain and improve the EVR environmental incident and inspection databases and Power BI dashboards for internal and external reporting.
  • Participate in monthly Environmental Management System and Performance working groups to bring regional support that focuses on simplification, and alignment across regional and asset teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science or in one of the Earth Sciences disciplines or a diploma in Environmental Technology with relevant work experience 
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in the field of environmental management 
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, excel, PowerBI, data analytic tools, and EMS software  
  • Development and delivery of procedures and training
  • Experience with permit implementation, developing and implementing compliance programs and the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems is an asset 
  • Technical knowledge of relevant federal and provincial environmental legislation, standards, and effective industry practices is an asset 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
