- Legacy Assets
- Granisle, British Colombia, Canada

Are you comfortable engaging with regulators and local stakeholders while guiding site activities and improvements?
The role in a nutshell:
In this role, you will report directly to the Reclamation Manager, Western Canada, and will have direct supervisory responsibility for consultants, contractors, the HSEC Coordinator and the Site Coordinator. You’ll engage with government and local stakeholders on operations and monitoring results, lead and review work from site coordinators, contractors and consultants, and own the annual project schedule and operational budgets. More specifically, you will be expected to:
- Ensure sites meet Glencore, government and dam safety (GISTM) requirements, including managing consultants to ensure compliance.
- Review, update and maintain site specific H&S and environmental documents (EPRP, OMS, Closure Management Manual, LOTO, TMP).
- Deliver safety inductions, ensure staff and contractors are trained and follow protocols, and assist with work permits for safe on site work.
- Participate in risk assessments, provide environmental/technical knowledge for risk management, and coordinate government, contractor and consultant site inspections.
- Document and complete all activities for permits and certificates of compliance across the sites: collection of regulatory samples, review of laboratory results, and creation of monitoring and reclamations reports for each site to meet government compliance requirements.
- Completing site inspections for dam safety, maintenance plan development and permit compliance to ensure operational adherence.
- Management and assistance to consultants to complete work that is beyond our capability (e.g. AEMP, revegetation monitoring, waste rock chemical characterization, treatment options assessment) and technical review of all environmental and geotechnical consultant reports.
- Manage staff, contractors and budgets to complete all required site work, including smaller capital projects and invoice approvals.
- Assist with the creation and evaluation of technical RFPs; perform technical and safety review of final work plans; review and sign off final work product (from pump replacements to technical reports).
- Ensure contractors work according to the defined scope and adhere to Glencore’s HSEC requirements.
- Provide and/or coordinate site specific safety and orientation training, and supply the information and tools required to complete work safely.
- Ensure that all systems and equipment are inspected and calibrated, remain fully operational, and receive timely preventive maintenance.
- Promptly respond to and investigate any unusual site condition, email, or call out; determine the cause and either correct it yourself or arrange for the appropriate contractor to provide assistance
Do you have what it takes?
